STOTT PILATES, What is it

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original method pioneered by Joseph Pilates.

Lindsay and Moira Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over three decades refining the acclaimed STOTT PILATES method of exercise.

The refined method results in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation — making it one of the safest and most effective methods available.

STOTT PILATES is recognized as THE Professional’s Choice by studios, fitness facilities, fitness professionals and the consumer market worldwide.

Pilates

Is a whole-body system focused on core based training and Mindful Movement.

Our “core” consists of the deepest muscles that support our internal organs, stabilize our spine & pelvis, and keep us balanced & supported during motion.

Pilates exercises train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements.

By developing proper technique, you can actually retrain your body to move in safer, more effective patterns of motion.

Many of the exercises are performed in reclined or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight bearing.

Pilates is also an extremely flexible exercise system. Modifications to the exercises allow for a range of difficulty from beginner to advanced.

Get the workout that best suits you now and increase the intensity as your body conditioning improves.
